Why shoppers miss your WooCommerce sale (and 5 ways to fix it)
Most visitors never see your sale page. Here’s where your discounts get lost, and five practical ways to put them in front of shoppers without annoying them.

You picked the products, set the discounts and scheduled the dates. Then the sale ends and the numbers barely moved. Usually the discount wasn’t the problem — visibility was.
Where sales get lost#
Look at your analytics landing pages. For most stores, the majority of visits start on a product page, a blog post or the home page — rarely on the sale category. Search engines and social links send people deep into the site, and from there your sale is several clicks away.
Add a few common habits and the sale disappears completely:
- The only announcement is a home page banner, which most visitors never load.
- The sale lives in a category three menus deep.
- A popup announced it once, and the shopper closed it on reflex.
- Email went out, but only to existing subscribers.
1. Show the deals on every page#
Your offer should follow the shopper, not wait for them. A persistent, polite element — a slim edge tab or a small drawer — that lists what is on sale right now works on every landing page, including the blog posts that bring in search traffic.
2. Show the actual products, not just a percentage#
“20% off” is abstract. A tent with $199 $139 and “Save $60” is concrete. Real products with the original price, the sale price and the saving convert far better than a generic banner, because the shopper can see something they want.
3. Respect the shopper#
The fastest way to train people to ignore offers is to interrupt them. Some rules that keep promotions welcome:
- Open automatically at most once per visit, and stay closed once dismissed.
- Never interrupt the cart or checkout.
- Make closing obvious and easy.
4. Keep it honest#
Fake countdowns that reset on every visit, “only 2 left” on unlimited stock, prices that are out of date — shoppers notice, and some jurisdictions treat it as a misleading practice. Use your real end dates, and make sure the moment a sale ends, every promotion of it ends too.
5. Make buying one click away#
If a shopper has to navigate to the product, choose options and then find the cart, many won’t bother. Let them add simple products to the cart straight from wherever you show the offer, and send products that need options straight to the right page.
Doing it automatically#
Sale Drawer does all five for WooCommerce stores: it finds every product on sale, shows them in a drawer on every page, opens once per session, never on cart or checkout, reads prices live so they’re never stale, and lets shoppers add to cart from the drawer. The free version is complete; Pro adds scheduled campaigns, honest countdowns, targeting and revenue analytics.
